On Friday 9th August Dr Marion Dowd of Sligo I.T will be presenting a lecture entitled ‘Archaeological Excavations on Moneen Mountain, Ballyvaughan: Bronze Age and Late Medieval Life in the Burren’.  The talk starts at 8 pm sharp in Logue’s Lodge, Ballyvaughan Co Clare and entrance is free.  Moneen cave is a small site which was discovered in 2011 by local cavers and found to have archaeologically significant artifacts buried within including the skeleton of a child.  Dr Dowd will be discussing the significance of the finds in the cave and what they mean in terms of our knowledge of life in the Burren in the Bronze Age.
