Irish Papua New Guinea Caving Expedition report now available
The 2011-2012 Irish Papua New Guinea Caving Expedition was a significant event in Irish caving in that it was the first such independent expedition there originating from Ireland as opposed to the previous situation of Irish cavers joining groups travelling from other countries. Over five kilometers of cave passage was discovered and surveyed and the extensive report of the expedition is now available to view here. The Speleological Union of Ireland was the main sponsor of the expedition via the Expedition Fund which supports SUI members going on exploratory trips in various places around the world.
