Access and Conservation Update: Shannon Cave

Information regarding Shannon Cave has been updated on the Cave access & cave restrictions page

The following information has been updated:

George’s Choke, Balcony Choke and other parts of Shannon Cave remain unstable. Recent trips into the cave indicate that flood events have destabilized George’s Choke further and increased the risk of collapse. Extreme caution is advised. All cavers entering the cave should be prepared for self rescue. Rescue from George’s Choke would be an extremely serious prospect and may not be possible.Please note that there is currently no ICRO dump beyond George’s Choke.
