Single Rope technique (SRT)
Single Rope Technique (or SRT) is a series of skills which are used to progress through sections of cave passage of a vertical nature or those requiring a degree of safety precautions necessitating the use of rope to prevent falls. For most cavers this represents a core higher skill and use of SRT opens up a huge range of caving possibilities both in Ireland and elsewhere.
The SUI is delighted to announce that there are Single Rope Technique (SRT) level 1 and 2 training courses available each year.
The courses are open to SUI members. Attendee spaces are course dependent.
Please see the Events section for specific course dates.
The SRT 1 weekend is aimed at those with little or no SRT experience and SRT equipment will be available for loan (although attendees are welcome to bring their own kit).
