Notes

A retrospective upgrade facility is not provided. If you purchase basic membership and later decide that you need full membership, you must pay the full cost of the full membership.

The degree to which basic and full members will be allowed reduced cost access to training programmes will be decided by the SUI committee for each event offered on a case by case basis.

In the case of both insurance schemes, the member will be expected to meet hospital and other emergency costs at the time of the incident and must then submit a claim through SUI for reimbursement. It is therefore vital that SUI members carry sufficient funds and/or credit card to meet such costs and are prepared for a delay of some months before the claim is considered.

SUI Administration

SUI is administered by an elected committee. It comprises a Chairman, a Secretary, a Treasurer and five committee members. Other people are co-opted onto the committee to serve in specific roles such as training and conservation. All members of the committee are unpaid and carry out their work for SUI in their own time. The AGM is held each October at the organisation’s Annual Symposium held in one of Ireland’s caving districts.
