Caving clubs in Ireland and Northern Ireland

Caving in Ireland is a diverse and welcoming community. We would love you to get involved!

There are 11 active clubs on the island, including 5 for university students. Contact your local club as listed below to get started.

If you want to start a new caving club, the Speleological Union of Ireland (SUI) can help with information and support. The SUI is the umbrella body that represents the interests of cavers on the island of Ireland. Find out more about the SUI.

Dublin Caving Group (DCG)

DCG is open to new cavers and those who wish to return to the sport. DCG was founded in 2013 and organises monthly trips.

University College Dublin Caving and Potholing Club (UCDCPC)

UCDCPC is open to students of the University College Dublin and affiliated institutions. This club holds weekly training sessions and organises monthly trips. UCDCPC was founded in 1996.

Technical University of Dublin Caving Club (TUDCC)

TUDCC is open to students of the Technical University of Dublin and affiliated institutions. This club holds weekly training sessions and organises monthly trips.

TUDCC was formerly known as Dublin Institute of Technology Caving Club (DITCC). DITCC was founded in 1992. Following the amalgamation of DIT institutions into a new university in 2018, the name changed to TUDCC.

Ulster Speleological Society and Caving Club (USSCC)

USSCC is open to cavers of any experience. Beginners and cavers who wish to return to the sport are very welcome. USSCC was founded in 2019 and organises regular trips.
